about

The emotional centre point of the EP. Essentially in this song all I'm really aiming to do is to try and represent my emotional state. At the time of writing certain relationships and events were affecting my psyche and I wanted to explore that. I resignedly argue with a feminine conscious and contemplate my passage through life. The simple intro is full of melancholy, isolation and existential touches before the other instruments join and introduce a faux-summer, almost wistful pop feel.

lyrics

A long night holding out for morning
The Melatonin lasted for a while
Re-evaluating my emotions everyday before I go outside
I became inactive after New Years
I hope that I'll get going come July
I was invited to you lake house
You shouldn't be surprised if I decline
Aimless survivor, hell that's good enough
Better alive than not be here at all
I know I'm not in isolation
And I appreciate your call

Suppressing the feeling
Unsure of revealing my intentions
I started a hobby
Put smoke in my body
All show babe
All this repeating
Like morning, like evening
Rewire me
All this is folly
At home with my body
I'll always be sorry

You've never been easy on yourself boy
But I can see the value in that
We don't need to point it out boy
What good would it do me now

I felt I was honest
And how you responded in kindness
Immersed in the process
I worked on my concepts all night babe
All this repeating
Like morning, like evening
Rewire me
All this is folly
At home with my body
I'll always be sorry
